Performance Coaching for Athletes and High Performers.

The best athletes in the world don't just train their bodies. They architect their entire day around performance. Every detail matters: how they prepare, focus, recover, reset. They know their purpose and align everything they do with it.

What if you brought that same intentionality to your work and life?

Start training

Beyond helps athletes and high performers reconstruct their day the way elite competitors do so you can show up with clarity, perform under pressure, and stay connected to what actually matters.

The best athletes in the world don't just show up and hope for the best. They know how to prepare mentally, lock in when it counts, reset after setbacks, recover intentionally, and zoom out to see the bigger picture. They're deeply connected to their purpose, not just chasing external validation.

I work with competitive athletes who want to develop these skills on the field and with professionals building something in business, startups, and demanding careers who want to bring that same level of intentionality into their work.

This isn't about grinding harder. It's about architecting your day so you're focused on the highest priority, visionary work that moves your life forward, not just a bunch of small tasks and too many distractions. It's about speaking with confidence, managing pressure, recovering like an athlete, and performing at your best while staying grounded in meaning and fulfillment.

If you're a competitive athlete (high school, college, elite level) and you're serious about developing your mental game, this is for you.

We work on the skills that separate good from great: confidence under pressure, focus when it matters, resilience after setbacks, and staying connected to your purpose beyond just wins and stats.

What we build:

  • Mental performance strategies for competition

  • Pre-performance routines that actually work

  • Breathwork for nerves and focus

  • Meditation practices for presence

  • Confidence that comes from self-knowledge, not just results

  • The ability to reset quickly after mistakes

  • Tools to perform your best while enjoying the process

This isn't just sports psychology theory: it's practical, evidence-based training that translates into real performance.

ATHLETES

If you're building something: whether that's a career in a startup, finance, law, tech, medicine, or your own company, and you're tired of often reacting to your day instead of designing it, this is for you.

Prepare like a pro:

  • Start your day with intention, not inbox reactivity

  • Use breathwork and mindfulness to get into focus

  • Prime your nervous system for performance

Perform under pressure:

  • Speak with confidence in high-stakes moments

  • Stay present when it matters most

Reset and recover:

  • Bounce back from setbacks quickly

  • Build recovery practices that actually restore you

Optimize for what matters:

  • Focus on high-priority, visionary work (not just busywork)

  • Align your day with your deeper purpose

PERFORMERS IN BUSINESS

I work with teams and organizations to build cultures where people can actually perform at their best, grounded in trust, resilience, and purpose.

Through workshops and ongoing training, your team will learn:

  • How to regulate stress and maintain focus

  • Communication practices that build psychological safety

  • Breathwork and mindfulness tools they can use immediately

  • How to reset collectively after challenges

  • How to stay connected to shared purpose under pressure

These aren't just feel-good sessions. They're practical, skills-based trainings that change how your team shows up.

Text saying 'Meet Andy Sutter, MA' in bold black font on a yellow background.

I'm Andy, and I've spent my life studying what it takes to perform at a high level: first as a professional baseball player, then as an early team member at a startup that went public, and now as a performance coach with a Master's in Sport Psychology.

Here's my background:

  • Played professional baseball (Dodgers organization)

  • Spent 10 years in tech at a startup from early stage through IPO, leading teams and product development

  • Master's in Sport and Performance Psychology from University of Denver

  • Ultra-endurance athlete (ran 1,200 miles across Great Britain, multiple 100-mile races, Ironman)

  • Certified breathing coach and meditation teacher

What I learned:

Elite athletes don't just wing it. They architect their entire day around performance: how they prepare, focus, recover, and stay connected to their purpose. Every detail is intentional.

In the startup world, I watched incredibly smart people work insanely hard but often on the wrong things: reactive, scattered, buried in busywork instead of doing the visionary work that actually moves the needle.

That's what I help people fix. Whether you're a competitive athlete or someone building something in the world, I teach you how to reconstruct your day the way the best performers do: focused on what matters, prepared for pressure, able to reset quickly, and deeply connected to your purpose.

This work combines sport psychology, breathwork, mindfulness, and real-world experience in high-pressure environments. It's not theory. It's practical training that translates into how you actually show up.

I believe high performance isn't about grinding yourself into the ground. It's about clarity, intention, recovery, and meaning. It's about doing the work that matters while staying connected to who you are and what you care about.

If that resonates, let's talk.

    • Professional Experience:

      • Technology Leader, early team member at startup through going public (10 years)

      • Professional Baseball Player, Los Angeles Dodgers Organization

      • Division I Baseball Player, UCLA and UC Davis

      Education:

      • MA in Sport and Performance Psychology, University of Denver

    • 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training, Sri Yoga

      • Certified Level III Breathing Coach, Nordic Flow

      • Certified Breathing Coach, Buteyko Breathing Method

      • Intensive Mindfulness and Meditation Training, Zen Center Residency

  • Ultra Endurance Athlete (Ironman, 100-mile trail races, 1,200-mile UK run)

  • Our first session is about understanding where you are and where you want to go. We'll identify what's working, what's getting in your way, and what patterns are showing up in your performance.

From there, we build a plan tailored to you.

For athletes, that might look like:

    • Building pre-competition routines that actually work

    • Learning how to reset after mistakes

    • Developing confidence that isn't based on results

    • Using breathwork to manage nerves

    • Staying connected to why you play in the first place

For professionals, that might look like:

    • Reconstructing your day so you're not just reacting to emails and Slack

    • Starting your morning with breathwork and intention instead of anxiety

    • Learning how to focus deeply on high-priority work (not just busywork)

    • Speaking with confidence in meetings and presentations

    • Building recovery practices so you don't just crash at night

    • Zooming out to see the bigger picture when you're in the weeds

    • Aligning your work with your deeper purpose

We work through evidence-based mental skills training, breathwork, meditation, and practical tools you can use immediately. Most people do a focused series of 6-8 sessions to build the foundation, then check in periodically as needed.

The goal isn't to make you dependent on coaching. It's to give you the tools and self-awareness to perform on your own.

  • I work with competitive athletes (high school, college, elite) who are serious about their mental game, and professionals who want to bring that same level of mental training into their work.

My clients are people who aren't satisfied with just going through the motions. They want to perform at a high level, stay connected to purpose, and build sustainable practices—not just grind until they burn out.

If you're curious whether this is a fit, let's schedule a free call and talk through what you're working on.

  • Sessions are $200 each, or you can choose a package:

    • 6-session package: $1,000 (get 6 sessions for the price of 5)

Most clients start with the 6-session package to build a strong foundation, then check in periodically as needed.

If cost is a barrier, I reserve a portion of my practice for sliding scale clients. Reach out and we'll figure it out.

Each relationship begins with a free 20-minute consultation to ensure fit and clarify goals.

  • Sessions are typically 50 minutes.

The first meeting is a 20 minute free consultation to explore goals and ensure the right fit.

Follow-up sessions are structured around a clear plan and practical tools you can apply immediately.

  • Most clients work together for a focused series of sessions, often 6 to 8, to build mental skills and integrate them into daily routines.

After that, we schedule periodic check-ins or "tune-ups" as needed.

The goal is to help you develop lasting confidence and tools you can continue to use on your own.

  • Our work begins with meeting you where you are. Together we explore acceptance of yourself, your situation, and the uncertainty that comes with competition and life.

We build awareness of your purpose, values, and patterns, creating space to develop practical tools that help you respond with presence instead of stress. Over time, this leads to confidence, clarity, and a deeper trust in yourself both on and off the field.

  • Yes. Everything discussed in sessions is confidential and protected.

The only exceptions are if there's ever risk of harm to yourself or others, or if disclosure is required by law.

  • Most sessions are held online, which allows clients across the U.S. to connect easily.

For teams, on-site sessions can be discussed upon request.

  • Mental performance coaching focuses on skill development, awareness, and action in order to help you build confidence, focus, and resilience to perform at your best.

While therapy often explores clinical concerns, this work stays in the realm of growth, mindset, and performance enhancement.

If we identify areas that might benefit from therapy, I can help you find the right licensed support.

  • Schedule a free consultation. We'll talk through what you're working on, where you want to go, and whether this work is a good fit.

From there, we'll create a plan and get to work.

Beyond coaching, I pursue adventures that push my limits and deepen my understanding of what it takes to sustain performance over time. Most recently, I ran 1,200 miles across Great Britain: from the southern coast of England to the northern tip of Scotland, raising money for the Homeless World Cup. These experiences aren't separate from my work, they inform it.
